Adrenal Mass

Adrenal glands are situated above each kidney and produce various hormones. Adrenal mass(es) can be benign (non cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Both can cause various symptoms and sometimes be completely asymptomatic.

Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer usually, but not always, causes blood in the urine. This blood may or may not be visible to the naked eye.

Urethral Cancer

Urethra is a tube between the bladder and the outside world. Urethral cancer is fortunately a rare urologic cancer and is usually associated with bladder cancer.

Testicular Cancer

Testicular cancer can cause a lump in one or both testicles. It may be discovered on self examination. It is one of the most common cancers in young men.

Kidney Cancer

Similar to bladder cancer, kidney cancer can present with blood in the urine. Most kidney cancers are asymptomatic and are usually found incidentally on imaging tests performed for some other reason.

Penile Cancer

Penile cancer is a rare urologic cancer and almost always occurs in uncircumcised men.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate gland is part of the reproductive system. Cancer of the prostate is one of the most common cancers in men. Not all prostate cancers are created equal, some are more aggressive than others.

Ureteral Cancer

Ureter is a tube between the kidney and the bladder. Cancer of the ureter can also present with blood in the urine and sometimes with kidney obstruction. Like urethral cancer, it is often also associated with bladder cancer.

Urologic Cancer FAQs

What is the prognosis of a urologic cancer?

When diagnosed early, most urologic cancers can be treated effectively and cured. Prognosis typically depends on the type of cancer, its aggressiveness and the stage of the cancer at the time of diagnosis.

Do you treat cancer for both men and women?

At Urologic Surgery of NWI, we treat many different types of urologic cancers in both men and women. We also offer a variety of cancer treatments, including minimally invasive robotic surgical techniques.

What are some warning signs of urologic cancers?

Each type of urologic cancer may present with different symptoms or no symptoms at all. Some common symptoms may include, but are not limited to, blood in the urine (hematuria), changes in urinary habits (difficulty urinating, painful urination, frequent or urgent urination), testicular lump, weight changes, fatigue and abdominal, scrotal or back pain.

How do I know what stage my cancer is?

Cancer staging often involves a combination of clinical, laboratory and imaging studies. Please ask your doctor about your specific cancer stage.

Receive Comprehensive Evaluation & Treatment
